The traditional track is primarily for students completing their first bachelor’s degree. Those with a prior degree may also apply. Nursing courses are completed during junior and senior years in four semesters (24 months).

The accelerated track is for students who already have a bachelor’s or graduate degree in an area other than nursing. Nursing courses are completed over four consecutive semesters (15 months).

Both the Traditional and Accelerate BSN programs are delivered predominately in person. This includes lab, clinical and simulation experiences. There are limited nursing courses such as electives or support courses offered online. Log in and search .

• Accelerated BSN required courses are delivered as a hybrid format with at least 50% of course time in person.

Most classes and clinical experiences are scheduled for mornings and afternoons. To see if there are any evening classes available, log in and search .

The BSN Program utilizes a variety of state-of-the-art facilities across the region. You may be required to travel to different healthcare offices and agencies in order to complete your clinical experiences.

The Traditional BSN Program can be completed in four academic years. For the first two years, your course work will consist of liberal arts and science prerequisites. During the last two years you will be fully immersed in nursing course work.

The Accelerated BSN Program is completed in four consecutive semesters.

All core and nursing prerequisite requirements must be completed prior to starting your first nursing course in the BSN program. .

At the time you apply, you must have: 

• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale 
• Traditional students must have completed a minimum of 35 hours of required core courses with grades of C or better (including 12 hours of required science, 6 hours of English, and 3 hours of required Math (MATH 1111 or higher). 
• Accelerated students must have a baccalaureate or master’s degree from an accredited college or university. See catalog for specific accreditation information and information about international degrees. 

Yes, you need to apply for the BSN Program. Admission to the University of North Georgia and admission to the nursing program are two separate processes.

No, you must be unconditionally admitted to ̨Íåswag in order to apply to the BSN Program. Be sure to allow enough time to complete both application processes.

Confirming your acceptance is the first step after being admitted to ̨Íåswag. Confirm your attendance to ̨Íåswag through the . Log in to this page using your ̨Íåswag ID number or Social Security Number, and your date of birth. On the right side of the page, or beneath your admissions decision, select “Confirmation of Acceptance”. Complete the form as appropriate.

Students who were unsuccessful in another nursing program are not eligible to apply to the ̨Íåswag nursing program.

You can be considered for admission to the BSN Program if you have attended another program and left that program in good standing. You must provide a letter of good standing from the previous nursing department’s dean. Please be advised that not all credits may transfer due to differences in curricula. 

If you were accepted to ̨Íåswag for a specific semester, be sure to notify the Office of the Registrar if you cannot attend as planned. If you don’t attend during the semester for which you were accepted and don’t notify the Registrar, your admission will be canceled.

Please do not call the department repeatedly to find out if we have received your information. In most cases, we will reach out to you if your file is missing necessary information.

A titer is a blood test for antibodies and is required even if you are up-to-date on immunizations.

If your health care provider tells you that you don’t need something (like a titer) that is listed on any required forms, please explain that you need to complete the requirements exactly as listed or you won’t be allowed to participate in required clinical experiences.
